A big thank you in advance to our LINK Crew members for organizing and hosting the annual Freshmen Social happening on 11/4/2016 (2:50-3:50pm). FREE cotton candy, ice cream, ping pong, and other games are always AWESOME! It's going to be a great celebration for our freshmen! They made it through their first quarter at GHS. Congratulations all!

With our new parking lot traffic patterns here at GHS, it can get a bit confusing dropping off kids in the morning. Thank you to all of the parents who follow the new system and understand that these changes were made for safety reasons.
A girl was struggling with her AP chemistry studies so a friend offered to work late into the night studying with her. Good luck on the chemistry test tomorrow everyone!
One of the members of the Drama Club messaged one of our admin and said some kind words about the group. She said, "My drama family has been there for me when I can't be there for myself. They love and support me... The fact that people are so caring towards me all the time makes my life worth living." Shout out to the drama kids for being such kind and caring people!
The students who attended the Link Crew field trip to Camp Minikani missed classes all day, and therefore missed many notes. Since it was made clear that the information would be vital for future tests, kids took pictures of the notes and sent them to their friends, along with a short summary of all the things teachers had covered in class. We can all succeed if we work together!
A student who is having a hard time at home was clearly feeling a little down, so her friend asked her what was wrong, and he reassured her that he would always be there to vent to. She was so moved and took him up on his offer, hopefully getting some things off of her chest in a safe environment. Friends are always supposed to be there for one another, and this is an example of someone going above and beyond to make another feel at ease!
A girl complimented her friend on her scarf and asked her where she bought it. Her face lit up as she described how she picked it out and how it's one of her favorite scarves for the frigid days we have been enduring. Giving a genuine compliment can really change someone's day for the better!
After school let out today, a student was frantic because his mom's car broke down in the GMS parking lot while waiting for his sister. There would be no one to pick him up from school! Fortunately, a friend of his helped him by taking him to the Middle School, so he could meet up with his mother and sister. The act was greatly appreciated, and helped the family out a lot!
Today, on some lockers in the English Department, one of our admins saw some yellow Post-It Notes. These notes each had kind things written on them for the owner of the locker to find. A kind, anonymous message is always appreciated! Can we expect more of them in the future?
A student ran into a girl on his way to class. She was nearly knocked off balance. He immediately apologized and asked if she was alright. She smiled and said it wasn't a big deal. Being polite can go a long way!
To repay her friend that fetched her folder, she gladly returned his at the end of the period to save him some time! Their day was brightened in a matter of seconds!
In choir, a student grabbed his friend's folder so she wouldn't have to walk across the room to get it. She said it was the sweetest thing that happened to her all week!
Today someone greeted and high-fived one of our school's special education students in the hallway. The student was delighted to meet someone new, and we hope that they become great friends!
During lunch a few girls helped their friend feel less stressed about all the homework he had to do that night by cracking jokes throughout the period and making him smile. We wish him luck on all his work, and thank the girls for their sweetness!
Yesterday one of our very own blog admins needed assistance in changing some details on our site, as none of us knew how! A friend took time out of his busy schedule to help us, and now our site looks better than ever! All the admins thank you for this simple act of kindness!
A student scored very high on a test that they studied all night for. Their friend congratulated them with a high five during class. This kind of comradery is amazing to see! Keep motivating each other to succeed!
In the halls, a student- who is currently on crutches due to an ankle injury- was struggling to carry the weight of her backpack and walk with the crutches at the same time. So a friend of the student took the bag off of her back and helped to get to her next class. The gesture was appreciated greatly!
Today, the GHS Link Crew went on a trip to the ropes course at Camp Minikani. All camp goers displayed excellent HAWK PRIDE in being respectful and courteous to the equipment, staff, as well as the other group attending the camp! The staff even said that there is always a spot open for us in the future! Way to represent GHS!
The crew members for this year's musical, Seussical, have been working diligently on the set. Many of the cast members stopped by today to see their work so far, and each and every one of them had something positive and uplifting to say about the set! Their kindness warmed the hearts of the crew. Keep up the good work!
Yesterday a student was struggling in chemistry, and her friend offered to give up his study hall to tutor her. We can all help each other succeed!
A student was home sick a few days ago and missed a vital class period. Their friend made sure to take organized and neat notes that day, knowing that the student was absent. They immediately let them copy their notes the next day. It was very thoughtful of them to help a friend get caught up!
Two students had to use the bathroom at the same time. The teacher only allowed one person to go at a time, so she let the first student go. When they realized that someone else really had to use the bathroom as well, they gave up their turn for their friend. It was greatly appreciated!
A student saw that a group of girls was struggling on a review packet. So he went over to offer them help, and spent the whole hour helping the girls figure out the things that they didn't understand. Good luck on the next CSA!
This past Friday our Varsity Greenfield Hawks football team took on Bay View highschool and won their first ever playoff game in a convincing fashion, 38-10! Good luck next week against Whitefish Bay!
Some German students from GHS visited the middle school's parent teacher conferences to promote the German language. They spoke with the kids about the benefits of learning a foreign language and got them really excited about learning German!
